Ultimate Family Safari-Saruni Samburu | Saruni Mara/Saruni Wild Experience
Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport,
where a Saruni Basecamp vehicle will transfer
you to Wilson Airport for your charter flight to
Samburu.
Depart Nairobi in the morning*, arriving at
Samburu an hour later, where your local Saruni
Samburu guide will meet you and transfer you
to the lodge, or take you on a game drive if
preferred.
Afternoon game drive into the Kalama
Conservancy, exploring over 200,000 acres of
pristine wilderness in total privacy – including
sundowners with a breathtaking view.
Early morning game drive into Samburu
National Reserve to seek out the ‘Samburu
Special Five’ – rare endemic species that only
occur in this part of northern Kenya – as well
as the herds of elephant for which Samburu is
famous.
Enjoy a picnic lunch before heading back to
the lodge to relax for the afternoon.
Relax with a complimentary half hour Back &
Neck in the Samburu Wellbeing Space.
Continue to explore the wonders of Samburu
with a morning game drive into the National
Reserve, discovering the abundant wildlife
along the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro river.
Enrol in the Warrior’s Academy for the
afternoon and learn traditional Samburu skills.
Experience an evening game drive in the
private Kalama Conservancy, ending with
a starlit bush dinner in the wilderness,
accompanied by traditional Samburu singing
and dancing.
Depart Samburu on your morning* charter flight and
arrive in the Masai Mara an hour and a half later.
Set off on a game drive with a picnic lunch to enjoy
under an acacia tree or by the river next to a pod of
hippos. Alternatively, head straight to Saruni Mara or
Saruni Wild for some rest before a game drive later in
the afternoon in Mara North Conservancy.
Explore a different and less explored corner of the
Mara ecosystem in total privacy.
Early morning game drive in search of the big cats
and other predators of the Mara, returning to the
camp or lodge for lunch and optional treatments at
the Maasai Wellbeing Space.
In the afternoon, a game drive will take you to
an area where large groups of giraffes are often
encountered, followed by dinner at the lodge or
camp, plus and an optional night game drive.
Start the day with a guided walking safari through the
valleys and across the plains of the Mara. Alternatively,
take a game drive up to the top of Kilileoni, the
highest mountain in the Serengeti-Masai Mara
ecosystem.
Enrol in the Warrior’s Academy for the afternoon
to hone your bush skills and discover the ancient
wisdom of the Maasai, including traditional herbal
remedies.
Weather permitting, experience a bush dinner under
the vastness of the African night sky, with Maasai
warriors singing and dancing around the fire.
Visit the rhino sanctuary on the way to the airstrip
and once again admire the hippos and the
crocodiles of the Mara River.
Your flight back to Nairobi leaves the Mara at 11:00
and arrives in Nairobi at 12:20.
Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your onward connecting flight back home will follow.
